Real Estate Alcácer do Sal

Alcácer do Sal is a city inserted in the Alentejo coast, stretching over the right bank of the river and going up to the Pousada that was once a castle. A city with a lot of history, proven through archaeological remains of the Neolithic, and also found the passage of Greeks, Phoenicians and other peoples of the Mediterranean. It was one of the most important inland port cities in the West, due to its salt production and the industries derived from salting and fish paste. Industry and agriculture

The rice production which dominates the agriculture of the region, with various extensions of rice fields, during the various seasons the fields will take on various shades. The cork and pinewood production is also one of the most important in the region, giving rise to handicrafts, gastronomic dishes and sweets.

Heritage and Monuments

When you take a walking tour around Alcácer do Sal, you will find the oldest and most interesting part of the city near the river and small streets near the castle. You can visit some of the most evident monuments such as the Church of Santa Maria do Castelo, the Chapel of Senhor dos Mártires, the Church of Santiago, the Municipal Museum of Archaeology and the Archaeological Crypt.
