Maggia: Location and surroundings of this property

Maggia is a political municipality in the district of Vallemaggia, in the canton of Ticino. The municipality lies in the lower and central part of the Maggia Valley to the north-west of Locarno. The various districts lie on both sides of the Maggia. The municipality of Maggia was created on 4 April 2004 through the merger of the former municipalities of Aurigeno, Coglio, Giumaglio, Lodano, Maggia (former municipality), Moghegno and Someo. The municipality had 2358 inhabitants at the end of 2004. Of these, 2115 (= 89.7 %) were Swiss nationals and 243 were immigrants from other countries.
