Historic Design Marvel on the Elbe Beach

This beautiful monument ensemble from 1859 was originally built as a pumping station for the Hamburg Waterworks. Awarded for its high-level design and architecture, about 50 years after its last use, the historic buildings were transformed into extraordinary houses and lofts right on the banks of the Elbe. The single-family house is the centerpiece of the newly created Waterworks project at Falkensteiner Ufer in 2019. The house has a living area of 168 m², spread over two levels with a total of two terraces. The associated south-facing, real-divided plot is 750 m² in size. After a very elaborate reconstruction of the interiors, this "concept house" impresses with a uniform modern, simple design of oak, steel, lime-washed exposed brickwork, and sophisticated detail solutions. The light-flooded rooms on the upper floor are equipped with the highest quality oak finishes. Breathtaking ceiling and door heights throughout the house and the gallery floor with a ceiling height of 9.50 m are accentuated by the impressive Bocci pendant light with 40 globes. The ground floor stands out with its generous character featuring an open living and dining area, connected by a rotating Focus fireplace and an exclusive, custom-made kitchen with direct views of the Elbe. The gallery area is divided into two bedrooms, a dressing room, and two bathrooms. An electric skylight and a light cannon in the master bathroom, and a freestanding mineral cast bathtub with a view of the Elbe are further highlights of this property. Design elements such as Occhio spotlights, a Bette washbasin, handcrafted tiles, and the construction method fulfill exclusive living requirements.
