Carona is a Swiss municipality located near Lugano. It is a small village of about 600 inhabitants, situated on a hill overlooking Lake Lugano. The village of Carona is famous for its traditional architecture, with stone houses and cobbled streets that climb up the hill. Here you can also find the Church of San Giorgio, which dates back to the 14th century and features an interior decorated with frescoes and artworks. Carona is also famous for its mild climate and botanical gardens. One of the most famous gardens is the San Grato Park, which is located on the hill above the village and offers a panoramic view of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains. The park hosts numerous species of plants, including azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, and magnolias.
