Kufstein is located on the border with the Free State of Bavaria, surrounded by meadows, forests and lakes, dominated by the mighty massif of the Kaiser Mountains.
The town of Kufstein is located in the Tyrolean lowlands and, with almost 18,000 inhabitants, is the second largest town in Tyrol after Innsbruck.
The charm and appeal of this town lies in its invigorating contrasts. Centuries-old culture competes with impressive nature. The centre and landmark of the town is the fortress. The Kufstein holiday region is optimally connected to Austria's largest ski area - the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental. Free ski buses also travel to smaller destinations, such as the "Zahmer Kaiser - Durchholzen" ski area.
Innsbruck, Salzburg and Munich are about an hour's drive away.
