Long-distance heating, Underfloor heatingKufstein is a town in the Tyrolean lowlands, Austria, located on the border with Bavaria, Germany. It is the second largest town in the state of Tyrol and is situated on the river Inn, nestled in a picturesque mountain landscape. The town is surrounded by the imposing Alps, with the Pendling to the west and the Kaiser Mountains to the east being particularly prominent mountain ranges. Kufstein's geographical location makes the town an important transport hub. The Inntal Autobahn (A12) runs right past the town, connecting it to both the state capital Innsbruck to the west and Munich to the north. The railway line connecting Munich to Innsbruck also passes through Kufstein, giving the town good access to international transport. Kufstein is known for the Kufstein Fortress, an imposing castle that sits on a hill above the town and is a major landmark. The town itself has a well-preserved old town that stretches along the Inn and includes numerous historic buildings and squares. Economically, Kufstein is a center for industry, trade and tourism. Its proximity to the German border and easy accessibility make the city a popular destination for day trips, but also for longer stays, especially because of the surrounding ski areas and hiking trails. Overall, Kufstein offers a harmonious mix of urban flair and alpine nature, making it an attractive place to live and vacation.
