This grand heritage home was originally built in 1904 under the name, Grendon, and has since been beautifully restored to retain its classic charm and elegance. With its intricate wooden finishes, antique furnishings and ornate decor, Yellowwood Lodge is a true masterpiece of Victorian architecture. The main house is two stories with steep, gabled roofs and a unique weathervane that pulls the eye to the top of the house. The weathervane’s design is inspired by the owner’s love of fairy tales and is designed with a crescent moon, a black cat and a frog. The black cat is chasing the frog, representing the pursuit of transformation and growth while the crescent moon symbolises magic and enchantment. This property with its wrap-around porch, accented with gingerbread cutouts and spindle work, evokes a feeling of stepping back in time to a bygone magical era reminiscent of Alice’s adventures in Wonderland. The 2 bedroom family cottage , which is housed in the original stables of the property has been lovingly restored to preserve its original character and features. A manager’s cottage has a further 2 bedrooms with an open plan living space and kitchenette where an additional 4 guests can be accommodated. Each suite has a private patio area with seating, where you can enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine surrounded by a verdant garden, with beautiful flowers and trees, providing a serene and tranquil atmosphere.The property also has a swimming pool and a sun deck, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the local area.
