Twelve percent of the world’s White Rhino population can be found on this 8 516 Ha. piece of land, of which 648 Ha. is leased, making Buffalo Dream Ranch the biggest privately owned rhino conservancy and sanctuary in the world. It is home to a variety of wildlife, such as Buffalo, Sable, Eland, Gemsbuck, Blesbuck, Giraffe, Hippos and more. There are approximately 1 950 White Rhino’s on the property, with genetics from over 98 different gene pools. It is the result of a lifetime’s worth of work and dedication to saving an incredible species. An excellently run orphanage and care centre also exists to provide orphaned calves with the necessary love and attention until they are old enough to be reintroduced into the rhino population. Security teams and systems are already successfully in place and has ensured more than 56 months without any poaching incidents, making it a safe haven for all the animals who have made Buffalo Dream Ranch their home.
