Heat pumpMafra is a Portuguese village belonging to the district and metropolitan area of Lisbon. The municipality accounts for 86,521 inhabitants spread over an area of 291.66 km² and 11 parishes. The municipality of Mafra is limited to the north by Torres Vedras, to the northeast by Sobral de Monte Agraço, to the east by Arruda dos Vinhos, to the southeast by Loures, to the south by Sintra and to the west it has a coastline on the Atlantic Ocean. Despite being one of the largest municipalities in the region, Mafra represents only 3% of the population of the metropolitan area, and its population density is more similar to that of the Oeste municipalities. At a regional level, Mafra stands out for its growing demographic and urban development, while presenting a landscape that is still very much associated with rurality, with a notable presence of natural, cultural and architectural values of national recognition. Examples of this are the National Palace of Mafra (the most magnificent work of Portuguese Baroque and World Heritage Site, inspiration for works such as the Memorial do Convento, by José Saramago), the Tapada Nacional de Mafra, the village of Mata Pequena, the Penedo do Lexim, the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve and gastronomic products such as Pão de Mafra.
