The construction of major road projects, as well as the proximity of Humberto Delgado Airport, the Port of Lisbon and Gare do Oriente, which are the major interfaces with Europe and the world, give the municipality of Loures unique centrality characteristics. A privileged location in the face of a large number of structural infrastructures in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area: A1, which connects to the north of the country; A8 (Lisbon - Leiria); A9-CREL (National Stadium - Alverca); IC17-CRIL (Algés - Sacavém), with a connection to the Vasco da Gama Bridge; IC2, in the section between Santa Iria de Azóia and Sacavém, and also the North-South Axis, currently part of IP7, in a section that connects the 25 de Abril Bridge to the IC17-CRIL, east of the Grilo Tunnel, between the connections with the A8, A1 and Vasco da Gama Bridge.
