We walk from the sunny Campo SS. Giovanni e Paolo, leaving on our left the Church, considered the Pantheon of Venice, since numerous doges of the Serenissima are buried there, and the extraordinary façade of the Scuola Grande di S. Marco, which nowadays serves as the gateway to the Ospedale Civile, to reach our destination in a couple of minutes. The flat, renovated in the early 2000s, occupies the entire second and third floors of a building of only two units, which in its present form dates back to the 1930s. As soon as we cross the threshold of the entrance, we are greeted by a large condominium hallway from which we gain access to the appurtenant storage room, which is also perfectly restored and has two windows. As we go up to the second floor and enter our flat, we are immediately struck by the typically Venetian features of the wooden beams on the ceiling and the terrazzo floors. Th living room is so spacious and filled with light filtering through the many windows in every room, and equally pleasant are the views from the kitchen and the master bedroom towards the well-kept garden below; this floor is completed by the main bathroom and the service bathroom accessed from a super-equipped wardrobe room. On the upper floor, which is completely mansarded, there is an open-plan guest room, but above all access to the splendid planted terrace of almost 30 square metres with a view of the dome of SS. Giovanni e Paolo and the bell tower of S. Francesco. A true oasis of peace in which to relax sunbathing and reading a book or hosting friends for unforgettable aperitifs and dinners in the starlight.
