Spoleto is known as one of the most beautiful cities in Umbria, with its charming central square leading to the Duomo, where works of art by Filippo Lippi and Pinturicchio can be admired. The Ponte delle Torri (Roman aqueduct) is the highlight to see. In addition to all the amenities such as restaurants, bars, pharmacies, banks and a hospital, the city celebrates the annual Spoleto Festival, which has attracted massive numbers of international visitors since 1958. This event highlights music, culture, drama and art. Besides Spoleto, there are several places of interest in the immediate vicinity: Trevi, Foligno, Assisi, Perugia, the Marmore Falls, Norcia known for its truffles and excellent hams, Cascia to visit Santa Rita, the 'Piano Grande' of Castelluccio. All these destinations are less than an hour's drive away. From Vallocchia it is possible to reach Rome and its respective airports in about 2 hours and Florence in 2 ½ hours. Perugia's international airport is about 45 minutes away and offers daily flights to a variety of destinations, such as Brussels, Barcelona, Amsterdam and London. Those who want to enjoy a day at the seaside can reach the Tuscan coast in about 2 hours or the Adriatic in 1.5 hours.
