Porto Valtravaglia: Location and surroundings of this property

Porto Valtravaglia is on the Lombard shore of Lago Maggiore, 5 minutes from Luino. Porto Valtravaglia is a wonderful village on Lago Maggiore. Here the Lake has crystal-clear waters and a panorama on the surrounding hills. It is a famous lakeside resort thanks to its beaches and beautiful landscapes, which allow you to organize boat trips or walks in the mountains. Picturesque hamlets, the marina, the ancient wash-houses, churches and historic buildings make this town a wonderful place to live. Porto Valtravaglia offers all the amenities and is connected to Milan and to the nearby Switzerland thanks to the railway station, moreover through the port you can reach all Lago Maggiore wonders. Not far we find Luino with all its tourist attractions and amenities. Luino is characterized by history and culture with an inclination for literature. Luino is famous for its new and wonderful lakeside with two playgrounds, an aerial bridge on the Lake, and a beach, “Le Serenelle”, recently certificated for its excellent bathing levels. Other beach, not too far away from Luino, is in Colmegna hamlet, famous for its crystal-clear waters. A walk through the historical centre, with the narrow uphill streets, the Renaissance and Baroque palaces, the arcades of the inner courtyards, the artisan workshops and shops, is also very beautiful. One of the main attractions is the market on Wednesdays, one of the main events in Luino. Actually, it is a real weekly fair, with more than 350 stands along the downtown streets and along the Lake. For sport and Lake lovers, there is also the Upper Verbano Sailing Centre, one of the very first on Lake Maggiore, where you have the possibility to hire a speedboat. Not far from Luino, in Maccagno, we can find the little Forcora Ski Resort.
