It starts in the centre of the city, with its shops and typical taverns, passing by the church of Sant'Alessandro in Colonna and arriving in Bergamo Alta. Crossing Via Garibaldi, one immediately enters another city. The cars disappear; the asphalt disappears because underfoot we have cobblestones. The climb continues: a total height difference of 50 metres awaits us. Beautiful houses pass by, always immersed in silence. To the left is the stairway of Sant'Alessandro, which descends precipitously towards the lower town, squeezed between boundary walls and the foliage of the trees in the gardens, which offer shade and coolness. On the right-hand side of the street, however, climbs the massive, green, vertical massif of what used to be called the Fortino. At the top you find yourself on a terrace overlooking the city. We catch a glimpse of it peeking through the bars of the last gate on the right of the street, when we have reached the top of the walk. On the left, the small church of Santa Maria del Giglio waits quietly for us. To the right, on the other hand, comes the last alley that leads back to lower Bergamo, the beautiful and ‘secret’ via di Salita di scaletta, which comes out into the Funicular Square. The flat we offer for sale is located right next to the small church of Santa Maria del Giglio near the panoramic terrace and Porta San Giacomo. A unique location straddling the lower town and the upper town and yet only a few kilometres from the main communication routes.
