Located about 15 kilometres east of Bergamo, Trescore Balneario has always been the main centre of Val Cavallina, the largest and best-served municipality in the area. The locality is known for its thermal baths and the beauty of its natural landscape, characterised by the forests and high hills of the Bergamo valleys; it is also known for Lorenzo Lotto's frescoes in the Suardi Chapel located inside the prestigious Villa Suardi.
