Decentral heating, Gas heatingThe village of Cortiglione is located in the Unesco Buffer zone, a few minutes from Nizza Monferrato, half an hour from Alba and the Langa and convenient to the motorway. The village is of medieval origin, and we can still see the vestiges of the ancient castle. From a naturalistic point of view, the Val Sarmassa Nature Reserve is certainly worth a visit, the 19th-century town hall and the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Fatima are other important attractions in the area. A noteworthy feature is the paleontological site that came to light in 2004. Like many Monferrato villages, Cortiglione also has many activities linked to the area, wine houses and B&Bs. Wine production plays a fundamental role in the village's economy, and the cultivation of saffron, which has developed recently, is becoming increasingly important. The initiatives that can attract tourism are obviously linked to the world of gastronomy and wine, the Summer Fair, with the barrel race certainly has a good appeal and attracts a lot of interest every year, in the village we also find four good restaurants, and this is always appreciated by tourists who visit or frequent the area more assiduously.
