Description

In the medieval village Di Felline, just 5 km from the sea,a delightful house arouses our interest. It is attached to a part of the old walls of the 1,400-year-old village and a recent renovation has bestowed all the comforts while maintaining the characteristic style of the village dwellings. Entering through an elegant door on the square, the first sensation is that of reliving bygone eras, after a few stone steps we enter a bright living room with a star vaulted ceiling and stone floors that takes center stage, soon after we find a lovely kitchenette carved out of an alcove. From the living room balcony the view is emotional: the 12th-century castle and the surrounding village bring ancient times to life. Crossing the threshold of the living room we find a large mezzanine hallway that gives access to the master bedroom complete with bathroom. Local stone floors and vaulted ceilings with exposed brick make the room cozy, and a large window gives brightness to the room, which is embellished with large niches in the walls from which closets and shelves have been obtained. Going up to the loft we find a single bedroom with bathroom, and continuing we access the terrace and a technical room. The terrace, leaning against the ancient walls of the castle, is spread over 3 different floors: the view of the village and the sanctuary is superlative, the sunsets and the sea view magnificent. This beautiful apartment represents a unique opportunity both as a main residence and as an investment or second home. The property is available from 20/09/2024

Location: Felline, Apulia

Located in lower Salento, amid dry stone walls, red earth and shades of blue from the Ionian Sea, Alliste rises at the foot of a valley between two greenhouses that separate it from its marinas Capilungo and Posto Rosso. Of Greek origin, the inhabitants of the village of Felline, now a hamlet of Alliste, founded the town to escape the dangers arising from attacks by Turks and Saracens. In fact, strolling through the quaint historic center one can also notice the oriental influence in its architecture, as in the main church devoted to St. Quentin. The hamlet of Felline is a jewel handed down from antiquity to the present day. The hamlet is built on the walls of the castle still standing today, just a few kilometers from the most picturesque beaches of Torre San Giovanni and Capilungo, walking through the hamlet one relives the moments of a bygone era, the white courtyard houses, characteristic squares and monumental churches have made this small hamlet a point in Salento that is absolutely worth visiting.
