Il Carrubo is located in Panarea. One of the seven islands of the Aeolian archipelago. At 3.5 km, it is the smallest island of the Aeolian Islands. It lies northeast of Salina and Lipari, 30 kilometers from Stromboli. The tourist port of Milazzo is 65 km away. Panarea belongs to the municipality of Lipari in the province of Messina. San Pietro, Drauto and Ditella are the three districts of the island. The center with boutiques, bars and restaurants is in San Pietro, where there is also a jetty. Just behind the center of the Drautt district is Cala degli Zimmari, one of Panarea's famous beaches. From here, the path leads to Punta Milazzese, where the remains of a prehistoric village can be found. Moreover, an ancient path leads to Cala Junco, known as the most beautiful cove of the archipelago. It is a natural amphitheater made up of rocks surrounding an impressive natural basin. The islets of Basiluzzo, Spinazzola, Lisca Bianca, Dattilo, Bottaro, Lisca Nera, Panarelli and Formiche lie off the coast of Panarea and, together with the active Stromboli volcano, create a wonderful atmosphere. The island has a helipad and can be reached by ferry, speedboat or your own yacht.
