Narni, a stone's throw from Terni (15 min by car). Leaving the historic centre there is direct access to the E45, which is one of the main roads in Italy and crosses the whole of Umbria, connecting the capital Perugia (about 1 hour's drive away) with all the major towns in the region. Just 2 minutes by car, following the Nera river, you reach the fascinating inlet known as the "Gole Del Nera", which offers an almost Caribbean setting for the clarity of its waters. Following the river route, there are many places that may interest trekking or cycling enthusiasts. In addition to unspoilt nature, Narni also offers much historical and cultural content. Spoleto is less than 1 hour away by car and Assisi is 80 minutes; Perugia with its airport is 90 minutes away by car and Orvieto 1 hour. Via the A1 motorway heading south, Rome can be reached in 90 minutes by car and its airports in less than 2 hours.
