Village "the tower"

In Prunarolo, in the heart of the Emilian territory, lies the village "La Torre," an ancient construction dating back to the 13th century, a silent witness to centuries past and a point of reference for residents and visitors. Within the medieval village, which is still inhabited today, there is a main building with the tower, a second adjacent building, a barn, and a well. The main building is of great importance not only for its exterior appearance but also for its internal structure, although reduced to the main supporting structures. Large oak beams intersect in a cross shape at the center of the tower and support the overlapping wooden floors. The three buildings, finely restored in recent times both externally and in the roofing to preserve their original historical structures, can be easily divided into several residential units as needed and cover a total area of approximately 900 square meters. Luigi Fantini, a speleology expert who worked in the "Appennino Bolognese" and to whom schools, streets, and three museums are dedicated today, mentioned in his famous book "Antichi edifici della montagna Bolognese", which remains a reference point for research, the preservation of the two original arch portals as well as the pointed arch windows.
