Location: Marentino, Piedmont

Marentino, a municipality in the province of Turin whose typical product is honey, consists of the three ancient villages of: Marentino, Avuglione and Vernone. The town hall is housed in the former brotherhood church of San Carlo Borromeo. Built in Baroque style in the seventeenth century, it has a graceful triangular bell tower. In what was once the nave (today the Town Council hall), there are two altarpieces, one from the San Carlo church and another one from the Marentinese chapel of San Rocco. A curiosity: the walls of many houses in town have been frescoed, starting from 2005, with original "murals" depicting some riddles to be solved. Currently the works are 20, created by different authors, coming from all over Italy, and create a certainly original visual context.
