The town of Mascali is located on the east coast of Sicily, strategically between Taormina, which is about 20 km away, and Catania with its international airport. The slightly hilly position, about 200 meters above sea level, close to the beaches of Fondachello and the tourist harbor of Riposto, make it an ideal location. Here you can enjoy the beautiful seaside of Taormina and the unique view of Mount Etna. We can find a few specimens of ancient trees in this territory, including the "Castagno della Nave," which is 2000 years old, 23 meters in circumference, the second oldest tree in Europe and the second largest in Italy. A must for tourists, is the characteristic cattle fair that takes place on the first day of November of each year.
