Description

This ancient stone farmhouse, dating back to the end of the 19th century, is situated in the hills of Castellina Marittima and enjoys a panoramic location overlooking the countryside and blue sea. The villa is surrounded by about 1,800 sqm of land with olive trees, in which there is a 5x10mt saltwater swimming pool. Recent enlargements and a careful renovation have kept some parts of the original structure intact, such as portions of the pavement, parts of the façade and wooden beams, inserting elements of comfort and high-class furnishings. The property consists of a detached building of approximately 250 sqm and a large porch. The building consists on the ground floor of a spacious and bright living area with living room and fireplace, dining room and kitchen, a study, a guest bathroom and a storage room. On the upper floor, the sleeping area consists of 3 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathroom/shower. The large French windows on the ground floor and the Tuscan style renovation with stone walls, beamed ceilings and terracotta floors contribute to making the house welcoming and bright. The property also has a storage room of about 10 sqm and two convenient parking spaces.

Location: Castellina Marittima, Tuscany

The earliest mention of Castellina Marittima dates back to the 13th century, although some historians tell of its Etruscan origin, due to the presence of alabaster mines, also known as ‘Bianco di Castellina’. Situated in the Alta Maremma, or Maremma Pisana, the scenery of Castellina Marittima combines the most characteristic aspects of the Tuscan landscape: hills of olive trees, vines and wheat crops, rows of cypress trees and lush Macchia Mediterranea. A short distance from the sea, it is also conveniently located close to Pisa and its ‘Galileo Galilei’ airport and not far from Florence and the many Tuscan cities of art.
