In 2003, the Sacro Monte di Ossuccio became part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. Opposite the town is the only island of Lake Como - Isola Comacina - open for tourists who can explore the ruins of the ancient baptistery and the foundation of a historic church. Furthermore, on the island, there is one of the most famous restaurants of Lake Como - «La Locanda dell'Isola Comacina» with an excellent menu of the Como tradition. Milan is reachable in about an hour and a half, as well as the international airport of Milan Malpensa. In about an hour, you can reach Switzerland and the city of Lugano, while the famous ski slopes of Sankt Moritz can also be reached in an hour and a half by car. Thanks to the Lake Como ferry boats, Bellagio is easily reachable and the city of Menaggio is only a few kilometers away.
