Tonco: Location and surroundings of this property

Tonco is a scenic town in the Basso Monferrato of about 800 inhabitants, just a few kilometers from the towns of Asti and Moncalvo. The airports of Turin and Milan can be reached in just over an hour. Surrounded by a hilly landscape full of fields and vineyards, it is an ideal destination for lovers of nature and good food. The town offers several services, including a riding school for horseback riding excursions for adults and children. Tonco is famous for the unique festival of the "pitu," meaning "turkey" in Asti dialect, which is celebrated in early spring. It is an equestrian joust between horsemen from the town's districts, which actually evokes an ancient peasant propitiatory rite consisting of warding off the powers of evil. Monferrato and the close Langhe and Roero are full of suggestive places where you can take memorable photos, enjoy suggestive views and take a dip in nature, art and history with excellent dishes and wines.
