It has an area of 775 hectares, of which 370 are woods of chestnuts, birches, locust trees, oaks and Scotch pines. Taino together with the hamlet of Cheglio stretch along the first hills of the Lombard Prealps where the great Po Plain ends and gradually the area becomes hilly and, as we go North, we also find the Alps. Taino is located in the lower part of the south-eastern shore of Lake Maggiore, that you can reach driving only few kilometres. Its territory is completely surrounded only by two municipalities: Sesto Calende and Angera. Taino can be described as a splendid natural terrace on Lake Maggiore.
