Pellet heatingVerano is a small municipality in the province of Bolzano-South Tyrol in northern Italy. It lies at an altitude of about 1,200 metres above sea level and has an area of about 24 square kilometres. Verano, with the districts of Hinterkofl, Leadner Alm, Unterdorf, and the hamlets of Eschio and Verano itself, is located on the sunny Monzoccolo hill between the two cities of Bolzano and Merano. The town can be reached through the via Meltina or the via Avelengo, as well as with the funicular of Postal. The landscape around Verano is characterised by mountains and forests, making it a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers. You can literally feel peace and nature in the village. The surroundings of Verano invite you to countless hikes, such as the one to the so-called 'Knottnkino', a special viewpoint. Just like in a cinema, there are seats here where you can sit and enjoy the view. The municipality of Verano has a long history dating back to the Middle Ages. This is also reflected in the historic buildings and churches in the town. About 1,000 inhabitants live in Verano. It is known for its traditional agriculture and the cultivation of apples and other types of fruit. Tourism also plays an important role in Verano, especially in the summer months, when many guests come to the region to hike and relax.
