The small village in Alto Monferrato is known for its wine production and its castle, included in the 'Castelli Aperti' (Open Castles) system of Basso Piemonte. Three semicircular towers characterise the structure, which dates back to the 12th century and was formerly a feudal seat. Lords of the castle included the Malaspina, the de Rege, the Spinola and finally the Piuma. A convenient road connection is the Ovada exit of the A26 motorway, linking Genoa and Milan. Acqui Terme, a beautiful spa town with all services, is 11 km (18 minutes) away, while the town of Ovada is only 16 minutes away.
