Castelplanio: Location and surroundings of this property

The urban center of Castelplanio stretches along the crest of the hill from which the panorama opens onto the rolling hills of the Marche. Legend has it that the original Roman town of Planima, after fleeing the Visigothic invasion in the 5th century, was rebuilt by its inhabitants on the other side of the river Esino, at a higher altitude and therefore easier to defend against enemy attacks, so that it adopted the old place name in its new name. Castelplanio is one of the most important Italian centers for the traditional and ancient game of "Ruzzola", played with slices of seasoned cheese and therefore also known as "Gioco del Formaggio". For the connection with the main neighboring urban centers, the city of Jesi, very important for the logistics of central Italy, with its interporto, is only about 15 km away and the regional capital Ancona is about 45 km away
