Description
At the corner that the street forms with Corte Santo Stefano delle Canne the coat of arms of the Perrone family, one of the main families of the Lecce aristocracy that boasted a descent from Saint Oronzo. From the simple lines embellished with ornate balconies, in the historic center of the Baroque city of Lecce, the property stands on one of the most important streets, a short distance from the cathedral. Various historical books tell of this palace of probable construction dating back to the 16th century. Certainly, in the 1700s it was inhabited by the physician Carlo Perrone and his son, the magistrate Bernardino. Located at an angle, the palace has a main entrance and two side entrances. It has three floors with some vaulted ceilings and large rooms that are developed in the embrace of the light well. A large panoramic terrace, where the view gets lost on the old part of the city and the bell tower of the cathedral, ideal for spending time relaxing. Certainly in need of major renovation, in 1960 it underwent work on the attics. Thanks to its wide expanse and beautiful location, the building lends itself well to be used as a prestigious private residence or to be converted into an accommodation facility.
