Description

In a corner of paradise, where history and modernity blend harmoniously, stands Forte Nord - also known as Block-haus - a place that over the centuries has dominated Lake Maggiore, offering a view that leaves anyone contemplating it breathless. Built in 1850 as part of the fortification of Laveno, the North Fort - now in ruins - was skilfully enhanced in the 1960s by architect Ivo Chierici to create a private villa without equal. The residence stands today on the ancient walls of the fort, a constant reminder of its history, developing upwards with modern architecture. Immersed in a finely planted park of over 7,000 square metres that slopes gently down to the shores of the lake, this property guarantees absolute privacy and consists of a main villa, a caretaker's villa and a dock that can accommodate two boats. Unique for its location and beyond, the Blockhaus is built on three levels and welcomes us with a spacious entrance hall leading to a reception hall. Here, dramatic windows offer an unparalleled view of the crystal-clear waters of the lake. A large fireplace and granite floors embellish the room, which opens onto a magnificent terrace suspended over the water, a truly unique work of art. A hallway leads to an eat-in kitchen, a first double bedroom, two bathrooms and a second living room with stone walls, evidence of the dwelling's historical origins. On the upper floor, a third living room, a second kitchen, four bedrooms and two bathrooms offer large and comfortable spaces. Three of the rooms overlook a large balcony that offers a picturesque view of the lake, allowing one to admire scenic sunsets. In the basement, a first room can be used as a garage and various storage rooms provide extra space for every need. The caretaker's villa, located at the entrance to the property, is instead on two levels and houses a living room with a fireplace, an eat-in kitchen and a first bathroom on the entrance floor, while on the lower floor there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. Every room of this residence enjoys an enchanting view of the lake. This property represents an opportunity to live in a unique context, where the charm of history and modernity meet in perfect harmony. A magical and exclusive refuge, immersed in nature and the beauty of the lake, a short distance from the centre of Laveno.
