Arcore: Location and surroundings of this property

Arcore is an Italian borough of 17,800 people in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy. It is located in the Po Valley northeast of Milan, from which it is about 20 km away, near the two most important cities of the Brianza province, Monza and Vimercate. The oldest archaeological evidence found in Arcore is a marble slab dedicated to a certain Giulia Drusilla, datable to the 1st century AD, while the earliest documented mentions naming the Arcore community refer to a few documents dating back to the 9th century. The town is also known in that within its territory are the former Villa Giulini-Casati-Stampa, now Villa San Martino, and the Villa Borromeo d'Adda.
