Rumo: Location and surroundings of this property

High peaks crown Rumo, between the Noce basin and the Val d´Ultimo, in South Tyrol. Rumo comprises nine hamlets or villas, formerly called chapels. The hamlets lie on slopes at an altitude of around 1,000 metres. The Rumo valley is clearly different from the rest of the Val di Non: the partial isolation has kept its characteristic architectural style intact. Various testimonies of past wealth can be seen, such as buildings with imposing portals, often adorned with coats of arms and frescoes, and votive capitals from the 1600s. Nature lovers will find in this place numerous possibilities for relaxation and sporting activities: from mushroom picking in autumn to ski mountaineering trips in winter on the unspoilt Maddalene peaks, from walks to more challenging hikes, to bicycle and mountain bike itineraries, including the 'Rankipino' route, a 57 km long cycle and footpath that goes from the Passo Palade to the gates of the Val di Sole, passing by natural beauties and characteristic villages of the Val di Non, including Rumo.
