In progressOn the immense and fascinating coast of Olbia, in the north-eastern part of Sardinia, squeezed between the Costa Smeralda and the Protected Marine Area of Tavolara, there is the beautiful beach that is the symbol of the town. It is the favourite beach of the people of Olbia, about 8 km from the town, on the road to Golfo Aranci. Also known by the name of Puntale Lungo, the Playa di Pittulongu is a splendid and extensive crescent of very fine white sand alternating with stretches of small shells, especially near the shore, set between the Muriscinu and Filiu points. The seabed is shallow and gently sloping, perfect for families with children. There are bathing establishments on the beach that will provide you with all useful services: facilities accessible to the disabled, ample parking, beach equipment hire, patinos and boats. Characteristic are the bars and restaurants overlooking the imposing island of Tavolara, which overlook the beach, popular with windsurfing, diving and snorkelling enthusiasts. The playa is the first and busiest beach at Lido di Pittulongu. Next to it is Squalo beach, separated by a small rocky tongue. Further on, you will find Pellicano, an expanse of sand very similar to the Playa but much smaller with small rocky outcrops. Further on, still on foot, you will reach Mare e Rocce, with a fine, light-coloured sandy bottom. Further to the north, at the border, is Bados, a large sandy beach with soft, ochre-grey sand.
