The surrounding nature gives many opportunities for excursions and nature walks. Papiano is also famous for its production of high-quality olive oil, thanks to its centuries-old olive groves. During the olive harvest period, it is possible to watch the oil production process and buy local products directly from the producers. Despite its quiet and rural atmosphere, Papiano is well connected to other towns and tourist attractions in Umbria. In fact, it is a short distance from Marsciano, which offers services and shops, and from Perugia, which can be reached in about 30 minutes by car. The main towns in the vicinity are: Marsciano 4.8 km - Perugia 22 km- Todi 24 km - Assisi 40 km - Orvieto 55 km - Spoleto 65 km - Rome 150 km.
