A stroll through the stalls of Rialto is a tradition - and a small pleasure! - for those who, like us, are lucky enough to live in Venice. Rialto is in fact one of the oldest island settlements in the Venetian Lagoon (Rivoalto) as well as the site, since as far back as 1097, of one of the oldest markets in Italy. Everything came to Rialto: from the import and export of valuable goods such as spices, silks and precious metals, to foodstuffs from the islands or the mainland, to retail trade in wine, vegetables, fruit and fish. We pass through it again today, also admiring the Grand Canal from the Riva, to reach the strategic property we are discovering today. Walking up a convenient staircase, on the first floor of this building of only three units, we discover this cosy property right in the centre of the city. Welcomed by a small entrance hall and a useful corridor, we arrive at the living area, perfect for sharing unforgettable moments with friends, cooking local specialities just bought at the market! Returning to the corridor we reach the large double bedroom, whose two large windows remind us that we are privileged spectators of this magical island. A windowed bathroom completes the property. On the way out, we leave our flat to be customised and perfect as a pied a terre for those seeking comfort and a space to enjoy a refreshing aperitif in front of the imposing Rialto Bridge.
