The municipal territory of Selvazzano Dentro extends west of Padua and consists of a plain of alluvial origin, from which rise the heights of Montecchia (m 44) and Mottolo (m 26), extreme northeastern offshoots of the Euganean Hills system. It is crossed from west to east by the course of the Bacchiglione River, which divides the capital into two parts, one on the right and one on the left of the river.
