Description

This splendid residence, known as 'the cube', is located in Ginostra, a district in the south-west of the island of Stromboli. It is surrounded by beautiful terraces, a verdant garden and with an exclusive sea view, which allows the sun to set over the nearby islands. What captures the heart of those who stay there is not only the breathtaking view, but also the absolute comfort of the villa, totally renovated in 2015, with very high quality finishes and all comforts, in order to be used immediately and in every season. A heating and air-conditioning system, solar panels, an automatic dehumidification system, an irrigation system for the property's green areas, two large water storage tanks with automatic filling, as well as sophisticated, design furniture are just some of the house's strengths which make it an excellent real estate investment. The villa boasts a modern and rational interior layout: spread over two floors, the property is accessed from the large terrace on the ground floor and immediately inside there is a large living area connected to an eat-in kitchen. A hallway leads directly to the sleeping area, with a guest bathroom and two bedrooms, one of which has an en suite bathroom. The first floor, accessed by an external staircase, consists of a large bedroom, two terraces, a bathroom and a small living room. In addition, the property is surrounded by a beautiful garden, with various trees and fragrant plants typical of the island. The external façade is typically Aeolian: the bright white colour of the ground floor blends in with the red of the Strombolian sand, a rusty colour that, together with black, characterises the entire volcanic island. The owners intentionally chose to preserve the original colour, which gives the villa an authentic flavour. Finally, not far from the house, just a few metres away, there are the two beaches of Ginostra, the rocky one below the church and the Lazzaro beach, where an old slipway leads comfortably to the sea.

Location: Ginostra, Sicily

The villa is located in Ginostra, a small village in the southwest of the island of Stromboli. Until a few years ago, it held the record for the smallest port in the world, known as 'il Pertuso' (the hole), a small harbour set among the rocks. It was only in 2004 that the old harbour was extended and improved to allow boats and ships to land safely. Ginostra is certainly the wildest and most unspoiled part of the island. The village above is reached by a steep mule track that leads to the church and the panoramic houses spread out along the ridge. Stromboli is the most northern of the Aeolian Islands, close to the Sicilian Tyrrhenian coast. It is just over an hour's boat ride from Milazzo, two from Messina, which is its provincial capital, and during the summer season it is also well connected to the ports of Naples, Tropea, Reggio Calabria, Palermo and Capo d'Orlando, from which ferries and hydrofoils depart.A further possibility of access to the island is offered by the landing strip for helicopters at Ficogrande, on the seafront. The island stretches for a little more than 12 square kilometres and has the only European volcano in constant eruptive activity, the Stromboli, also known as 'Iddu'. For its incredible and suggestive paroxysms along the so-called Sciara del Fuoco, it gives the island the nickname of 'Lighthouse of the Tyrrhenian'. Stromboli has a population of just over 400 inhabitants. The main inhabited villages are San Vincenzo with the landing place of Scari, the areas of Piscità and Ficogrande, and the small village of Ginostra to the south-west, accessible only by sea and populated by about 30-40 inhabitants. In short, a true verdant paradise for those who love to enjoy the peace, the tranquillity, the sea and the breathtaking Aeolian sunsets.
