Description
Majestic and magnificently set next to the castle in the context of the medieval square of the village of Monastero Bormida, Palazzo Capitelli, a noble residence that once belonged to the Della Rovere family, immediately shows its beauty as you enter the main door. The stone staircase leads to the first floor where a very bright hallway overlooks a balcony and the internal garden. On the floor there are 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, one of which en suite in the master bedroom and one equipped with a large Jacuzzi. In 2 bedrooms there are cross-vaulted ceilings decorated with beautifully recovered and restored frescoes. In another there is a wood-burning fireplace; the original floors in Piedmontese terracotta and marble grit and the exposed beams in the remaining rooms add a touch of charm to the sleeping area. On this floor are the connections for the creation of a kitchen that would transform the whole floor into an independent unit. Going up to the second floor via a comfortable stone staircase, one enters on the right into a large living room with a fireplace. The walls and ceiling are frescoed and the two windows overlook the castle square with a view of the parish church of Santa Giulia; from the living room one passes to an elegant study that overlooks a card-playing room on one side and a large, very bright dining room on the other; from here one passes to the kitchen with large windows and a central island. The floor is completed by two bathrooms, a very bright hallway, a laundry room and a small outdoor terrace that can be accessed from both the kitchen and the hallway. The renovation (with the exception of the ground floor with its stone cellars) was completed in 2020, and was carried out with respect for the authentic characteristics of the noble palazzo, maintaining the original floors, restoring the internal doors and the valuable furniture, but with the total renovation of the bathrooms, the electrical and plumbing systems, the roof and the external façade. The ground floor, measuring approximately 250 square metres and with six entrances facing the castle square, has valuable structural elements such as the double-vaulted cross-vaulted ceilings and a charming cloister where there is also an ancient artesian well.
