Cefalù is a Sicilian municipality in the province of Palermo. It is located on the northern Sicilian coast about 70 km from Palermo, at the foot of a rocky promontory. It is one of the major seaside resorts in the whole province; despite its size, it attracts millions of tourists every year. In the summer period the population even triples, making the main squares and the most important streets of the town crowded. The town, which is part of the Madonie Park, is included in the club of "The most beautiful villages in Italy". The city is dominated by a height of 270 meters with a particular head-shaped profile on which the Temple of Diana is located, while on the internal side, it opens onto the urban agglomeration. Cefalù has a picturesque marina, from which you can observe the characteristic sea front of the walled city, with the arches that shelter the boats. The climate, typically Mediterranean, enjoys dry and hot summers, mitigated by the wind, and mild and moderately rainy winters. Cefalù is a tourist resort of great historical interest. Especially in the summer, musical events and local events are organised, and the Norman town also has hotels, holiday homes, numerous restaurants and countless businesses and souvenir and local handicraft and small antique shops that characterize the streets of the centre. Definitely not to be missed is a visit to the Mandralisca museum which offers archaeological exhibitions and an art gallery with a portrait of Antonello da Messina, a visit to the Cathedral and the Byzantine mosaics and its beautiful 22nd century towers.
