Consumption certificateGuagnano is a charming little town located in Salento, in the province of Lecce, in southeastern Italy. It is a small urban center that offers many attractions for visitors. It boasts a rich history and culture, evidenced by its historical monuments and local traditions. The historic center is characterized by a whirlwind of narrow, winding streets and alleys, with white stone houses and Baroque churches. The main church S. Maria Assunta is located in the town's central square and is dedicated to the Holy Mary of the Rosary. The main facade faces east and incorporates an older church, probably erected on the site of the discovery of an image of the Virgin of the Rosary whose altar could thus be preserved. The town is known for its production of wine and olive oil, which are the main products of local agriculture. Salento's cuisine is world-renowned for its simplicity and authenticity, using fresh, seasonal ingredients. In summary, Guagnano is a picturesque and charming village, steeped in the culture and history of Salento, with a vibrant culinary tradition and a strong local identity. A tidbit… In the countryside of Guagnano artist Vincenzo "Vincent" Brunetti, after an apprenticeship in Milan as a painter, returned to his hometown in the 1980s and built "Vincent City" also known as Vincent's Hermitage. It is located along a bike route and is a destination for visitors and the curious fascinated by eccentric colors and eclectic architecture. Vincent's Hermitage is the home and private workshop of the eccentric artist who created his dwelling, a work of art capable of reflecting his inner world. Every corner of the house-museum is covered with a phantasmagoria of mosaics, icons, paintings and sculptures. The mosaics that cover every surface of the space are actually the work of Orode Deoro, an artist and mosaicist who lived here for five years. Vincent City, the ever-evolving cathedral, is a place of peace and psychic relaxation.
