Amenities and special features of this house

Welcome to discover this enchanting historic mansion in the heart of Salento, which lends itself not only to being a private residence but also to becoming a charming accommodation facility. This mansion was mentioned in the publication "I Giardini di Puglia" (A. Mantovano e V. Cazzato - ed. Congedo 2010) for its splendid Italian gardens, adding further elements of beauty to the overall picture. The mansion, located along the road leading to the Santuario di Santu Fili, dates back to 1930 and is a true jewel that combines nature, art and history in a perfect balance. Its distinctive tower evokes the charm of medieval castles and is an iconic landmark of the property, creating a fairy-tale atmosphere. A large gate welcomes visitors, and after passing a majestic pool dominated by a stone statue depicting King David, they enter the vast park along a gravel driveway, which winds among tall shrubs and ancient trees. The Frog Fountain, an artistic sculpture, catches the eye with its mesmerizing presence, while the statue of Moses with the tablets of the law is an impressive and striking work of art. The park is also home to a marvelous little stone theater by Professor Gioacchino de Giorgi, a distinguished thesiologist, which enchants with its beauty. Every element, from the sculptures to the fountains, from the inscriptions to the architectural structures, contributes to the unique and magical atmosphere. Villa De Giorgi offers spacious and cosy spaces, including a living room with large windows, a dining room with billiard room, a kitchen, a bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a study with library. The rooms are embellished by original stone fireplaces with artistic details that tell the story and heritage of this unique residence. A small chapel with altar, still consecrated, further embellishes the property. On the upper floor, 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, terrace with colonnade on the floor and from the staircase to the second floor a bedroom and a small bathroom. Strategically located in Salento, the historic home offers the opportunity to explore the beautiful City of Lecce. The sandy beaches and crystal clear waters of the Adriatic and Ionian Seas are within easy reach. Villa De Giorgi is an authentic fragment of history set in one of the most fascinating places in Salento.

Monteroni di Lecce: Location and surroundings of this property

Monteroni di Lecce, like the whole area of the province, has origins linked to prehistory, because the whole of Apulia has had human settlements since the Paleolithic period. With the Normans it was part of the county of Lecce, and later, in 1250, Frederick II ceded the hamlet to the feudal lords De Cremona, who were succeeded by the Monteroni family, who held it until the early 16th century. This family is credited with the construction of the first nucleus of the present Baronial Palace, later enlarged by the Lopez y Royo family, to whom we also owe the construction of the clock tower and two chapels in the mother church. The beating heart of Monteroni di Lecce is its main square with the majesty of the Mother Church, Chiesa Maria Santissima Assunta. This imposing sacred building, with its Baroque facade, rises majestically above the square, a reminder of the importance of faith in the lives of its inhabitants. But it is in the surrounding countryside that Monteroni di Lecce reveals its true splendor. The area is dotted with centuries-old olive groves that stretch to the horizon, creating a breathtaking backdrop. The soft countryside covered in Mediterranean vegetation offers an oasis of peace for those who wish to immerse themselves in unspoiled nature.
