Suspended between history and beauty in the heart of Venice

We cross Campo S. Polo, Venice's largest campo and the largest public space after St. Mark's Square, historically the site of markets, fairs and public festivals with games and bullfights, the latter immortalised in a famous 17th-century painting in the Correr Museum, to head towards Calle Bernardo, named after one of the city's most iconic Gothic palaces. Here we pass through the front door to find ourselves in an intimate courtyard with a water gate and a fascinating covered spiral staircase leading to the upper floors. We slowly climb the comfortable stone steps, pausing from time to time to admire the landscape from the rhythmic windows arranged along our route. At the end of our ascent, a balcony allows us a privileged view of St. Mark's bell tower. From here, a final flight of stairs leads us to our penthouse, from which we can immediately admire the large convivial spaces of the dining and living area with splendid 360° views of the historic centre, its lagoon and, if the day is particularly clear, the snow-capped peaks of the Dolomites. Completing this fairytale scenario are three spacious bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom, a bathroom serving the living area, separate kitchen, loft, numerous attic spaces (for use as storage, heating plant and laundry) and the much sought-after septic tanks. One of the characteristic elements of Venice, the altana, could not be missing from our penthouse. When you reach it, you cannot help but be amazed by the immortal charm of La Serenissima.
