By car it is easy to reach Magione where all services are available, with a large number of supermarkets, banks, restaurants, bars and petrol pumps. Local products are also abundantly found here, mainly olive oil, wine and cheeses. For nature lovers, this is the ideal place. A cycle path runs around the lake with a few pretty villages or towns to stay in such as San Feliciano, Monte del Lago and further afield Passignano, Tuoro and Castiglione del Lago. Those who enjoy boating can opt to visit one of the islands (Isola Polvese and Isola Maggiore). There is also no shortage of water sports here, such as kite-surfing, and there are golf courses within a fairly short distance. If you are more into culture, you can see most of the art cities of Umbria (such as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto) and much of Tuscany (Cortona, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Pienza, Siena) within an hour's drive. For those coming by plane, Perugia airport is not far away (over half an hour). Larger airports are about an hour and a half (Florence) or two and a half hours (Rome Fiumicino/Ciampino) away.
