Description
Found in Nógrád County, rich in castles and mansions, we are offering one of the most beautifully restored historical residences, which looks back at a historic past. The Prónay Castle, the Almássy Castle, the Zichy Castle and the Teleki-Degenfeld Castle, just to name a few of the noble families can be found in the immediate vicinity. Built at the foot of Mount Berceli, the oldest castle (built around 1690) is known by locals as the fort-castle. Built at the end of the 17th century by the Bene family, as an early Baroque residence, it is still preserved in its original state, despite minor modifications. This is due to its current owner, who thoroughly renovated it with great love and care between 2001-2003, using original archive documents and consulting with experts, respecting all historical details. Many noble families owned the building until 1945, when it became the property of the municipal council. Afterwards, it functioned as a day care centre, a school, a pharmacy and even a library. The four-towered, rectangular building today stands on a plot of 5470 m2, with a floor area of 868 m2, providing two levels of comfort. The castle also offers a garage, a gym, servant's quarters and a well-kept park with ancient trees. The historic wine cellar is the same age as the building. The residence is for sale with all its furniture, the terms of which are set out in a separate agreement.
