18) PIRAEUS Location: Piraeus is just 12 kms to the south of Athens city center and is one of the most important commercial and passenger ports in Europe, servicing passenger traffic to more than 200 inhabited islands in Greece, whose main connection with the mainland is via the Piraeus port.
