Kallitechnoupoli is a residential area in the municipality of Rafina. Has a population of 900 habitants and beautiful and spacious detached houses or villas, wich are built on a hillside, so most of them have an open space view into nature or some of them a sea view. Rafina is located on the coast of Eastern Attica and is the second largest port of the prefecture after Piraeus with high mobility to the Cyclades. In recent years Rafina, and his surrounded areas such as Kallitechnoupoli, has experienced great development and is practically a suburb of Athens, thanks to the Attiki Odos road wich has improved acces from the city center as it joins Marathonos Avenue in neighbouring Pikermi. It is about 25 km from Athens city center. The main road of Eastern Attica, Marathonos Ave.,crosses it to the west, while Am. Fleming Avenue starts from Marathonos Avenue end ends a short distance from the city center and the port. On the other side of Marathonos Avenue, on the hill side is situated Kallitechnoupoli. Rafina covers an area of 19.000 acres and its population is 12.168 inhabitants, according to the 2011 Census, while in the summer months it reaches 30.000 - 50.000. It is densely populated in the center near the port but has large areas with parks and green spaces as well as two large beaches, the first one next to the port and the second one the popular Marikes beach. Kallitechnoupoli is one peripheral district of Rafina west of Marathonos Avenue at the foothills of Pendeli. The distance to the International Airport El. Venizelos is aprox. 20 minutes away. In smaller distance is the Suburban station of Pallini.
