A seaside and family-friendly neighborhood that still retains its authenticity, Piraeus is the city where Greece's strong shipping industry was born and still maintains its strong maritime character, with most shipping companies based there as also the Marine Club Piraeus and the Yacht Club. Olympiacos and the Ereton group, the oldest active rowing club in the Balkans, are also based here.

Piraeus is characterized by small picturesque coves, such as Mikrolimano, with very good fish taverns, while it also includes all the usual facilities of a big city such as shops, cinemas, theaters, restaurants, bars, cafes and museums.
Accessibility: It is very well connected by trams, train stations, buses and of course the islands. It is also the main transfer station for passenger, commercial and cruise ships.
