The Chrysalis, a complex of four exclusive independent residencies in a prime location of Vouliagmeni, a few meters away from the sea, resembles the distinct shape of a butterfly, whose wings beautifully extend from the properties to the garden area, providing shade for the ground floor and sea views for the top floor. Transparency is used as a bonding element between the exterior and the interior. U-glass is extensively used, replacing or camouflaging the solid walls to allow maximum natural light to come through. At the same time, this choice of glass distorts movement, adding to the residents’ privacy and the space’s atmosphere. Contrasting materials are beautifully combined like, the glossiness of the U-glass with the matte effect of the white cement stucco chosen for the walls, floor, and ceiling. Moreover, the rocks placed around the properties add an earthy element to the composition, with the bigger ones hiding structural elements and storing glass panels. The surrounding landscape is designed to complement the composition with artificial lakes reflecting the butterfly’s organic shape, the glass surfaces and the vegetation, while creating a feeling of seclusion and peace. Floating paths pass over the lakes and plants to connect the ground floor balconies, offering in this way an alternative route, closer to nature. A3 residence spreads over 3 levels, with the ground floor hosting the open-plan living areas, one bedroom and bathroom, all leading to private gardens and swimming pools. The top floor is exclusively devoted to the master bedroom with bathroom and walk-in closet, opening up to a private terrace with jacuzzi and beautiful view. The basement layout can be altered to suit needs, providing for 2-3 extra bedrooms and bathrooms, offering possibilities for indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna, home cinema.
