The Kipseli district developed in the 1930’s with the building of a family houses and the first Bauhaus, Art Deco and modernism architecture in Athens. It was one of the most upmarket areas to live in, competing only with Kolonaki and Plaka. Around 2009, Kipseli was rediscovered.
